Do you love quick and easy projects for seasonal crafts? If you do, this one is for you! Years ago I made a Coastal Wreath using scarves from the dollar tree. It’s been one of my most visited posts ever. I called it “Ten Minute Coastal Wreath” because it truly only took about ten minutes to make. I’ve used dollar store scarves and boas for a few other wreaths, like this Whimsical St. Patrick’s Day Wreath.
Dollar Store Scarf Valentine’s Wreath

When I was recently visiting Dollar Tree looking for some bins and baskets for my Laundry Room and Pantry Organization, I spotted some fun Valentine’s Day designed scarves.

Along with the scarves, I bought a Valentine’s Day hanging heart. I used a wreath form that I had on hand that was wrapped in white tulle. Pearl head pins, scissors, and painted wood craft hearts were also used.

Since the scarves were infinity scarves, I began by cutting them at the seam. I used two pearl head pins to hold it in place on the wreath form.

Once a strip of the scarf is pinned, I wrapped it tightly around the wreath form and pinned it again when I reached the end.

Continue wrapping and bunching the scarf as it’s wrapped, pinning along the way until the wreath form looks full. I used a 15″ wreath form and 8 scarves.

After the basic wreath was done, I used another scarf to add a bow to the bottom of the wreath. I looped the scarf around the bottom of the wreath and tied a simple bow. To keep the loops of the bow from sagging, I added pins to hold them up.

I cut the ribbons and bells from the dollar store heart and pinned them to the center of the bow.

I cut pink ribbon strips and tied them into bows and pinned them over the bells. This helps secure the bells better, too.

I used a combination of red and white DecoArt Outdoor Living Paint since I had that on hand and didn’t have any pink.

Since the hearts are made with holes, it was easy to attach them with another pearl head pin. I used another scarf to make a hanging loop that is attached to the back of the wreath.

Supply List for Valentine’s Day Scarf Wreath
- 15″ Foam Wreath Form
- 10 Valentine Print Scarves (Dollar Tree)
- Hanging Heart with Bells (Dollar Tree)
- Wood Craft Hearts
- Paint
- Pearl Head Pins
- Foam Paint Brushes
- Ribbon
- Scissors
By taking the time to add a few more decorative items to the wreath, this took a little longer than the ten minutes it took to make the coastal wreath I mentioned above. But all in, including drying time for the hearts, the dollar store scarf wreath took under an hour to make.
