The first thing I did was to bend the wire into a heart shape. I didn’t need for it to be a perfect shape, just something close. I wanted to leave a gap between the two sides as shown here. This wire is thicker than coat hanger wire, but still pretty pliable. It is a good bit sturdier than a hanger, but I’m sure a hanger would work.
I glued the top one to the wooden dowel and the bottom one right on top of the other hearts. I topped them off with a couple of foam stick on hearts.
