Do you ever just look inside your pantry, hoping that some ingredients you have on hand will spark a recipe creation? I do! But more often than not, it doesn’t happen that way. Fortunately, this time it did!
Chocolate Brownie Trifle
I knew I wanted to make an easy chocolate dessert recently and as I checked out what I had on hand, I found a Ghirardelli Brownie Mix and Godiva Chocolate Pudding in my pantry. I also had some heavy cream in my refrigerator that I knew could be used to make an easy mousse.
Tip: Use a premium brownie mix and pudding mix for a rich, dark chocolate dessert.
While the brownies were baking, I used heavy cream and one box of pudding mix to make a quick and easy mousse. I used a second box of pudding mix and followed the directions on the box to make pudding. I then combined the two into one bowl, stirring to blend. The mixture was refrigerated until ready to serve.
After following the directions on the brownie mix, I allowed them to cool before slicing into squares.
I chopped the brownies into small bite size pieces and added them as the bottom layer of the trifle.
The brownie pieces were topped with a layer of the mousse and pudding mixture, followed by another layer of brownie pieces.
A final layer of the mousse and pudding mixture was added as the top layer.
Cover and refrigerate individual brownie trifles until ready to serve. Before serving, top with a dollop of cream and add a strawberry slice to each cup.
