Gloria loves creating her own version of cocktails and the results are always tasty. We wanted something light and fruity recently and this Prosecco Sangria was just right.
The combination of fresh fruit and frozen fruit, along with prosecco, vodka, triple sec, and strawberry lemonade make this perfect for summer parties.
Do you store your liquor in pretty bottles? Gloria and I both do and we found these affordable bottle tags that we love. Her set is silver and my set is copper.
Making this sangria is a simple process. You’ll need to slice the strawberries, pineapple, and lemon and slap the mint. Until Gloria told me that preparing mint leaves is called slapping, I hadn’t heard of that. Place the leaves in one hand and gently slap them with your other hand. This warms up the leaves and begins to extract the oils.
Everything is combined in a pitcher and stirred to blend it all together. It needs to chill for at least an hour prior to serving. Using the frozen fruit helps it chill faster. Add ice cubes to glass and pour sangria over the ice.
To serve, garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a strawberry. Add a strawberry slice and mint leaf inside the glass to dress it the drink.
