A St. Patrick’s Day Tiered Copper Tray is a fun decor piece. Tiered trays are both practical and pretty. I love using them for dessert buffets for parties, but they can also be the base for a fun seasonally decorated tray.

The fun thing about putting together a seasonal or holiday tiered tray is that it’s easy to use lots of small decor items that you might already have.

Items Used for Tray:
- Tiered Copper Tray
- Cardboard Shamrocks
- St. Patrick’s Day Decor Items
- Mini Steins with ribbon & shamrock stickers
- Candy
- Faux Flower Blooms
- DIY Leprechaun Hat (shot glass, felt, cardboard, ribbon, picks)
- Strands of Gold Beads
- White Coffee Mugs (Dollar Tree)
- Vinyl Shamrock (made using Cricut)
I have a couple of copper tiered trays that I enjoy using. This is the smaller of the two and it’s just right for putting together a display of some St. Patrick’s Day items. I used some of the items I have stored in bins for the tablescape and for the napkin rings and candles, but I still had lots of small items to use for the tray.
I used my Cricut to cut the gray shamrock with the trailing curvy stem and added it to a solid white cup. For another cup, I added adhesive shamrock stickers. Using the vinyl and the stickers means that these cups aren’t dishwasher safe or microwavable, but since they are more for decorating than using, I’m okay with that. Lots of cardboard shamrocks add a touch of green to the tray.
The small wood leprechaun hat was something I found at Bullseye’s Playground at Target. I added a few dollar store flower blooms to both tiers of the tray.
I bought the mini steins at the Dollar Tree and used them on my St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape as party favors last year. For this year’s decor, they are a good fit for the bottom tier of the tray. I added gold wrapped candy to them and kept the green ribbon and stickers on them from last year. A strand of gold beads is draped over the bottom tier of the tray.
The leprechaun hat is a quick DIY project that I made a number of years ago, BB (Before Blogging). It’s a votive candle holder wrapped in felt with the felt tucked inside the opening and glued down. I cut a cardboard circle for the base and glued the candle holder to it. Black felt ribbon, a tiny flower, and a small piece of gold card stock made the belt around the hat. I added some shamrocks, cupcake picks, and gold coins into the top of the hat.
The top of the wine rack that’s in our breakfast nook area is always a favorite spot to add some seasonal decor.
Items Used for Wine Rack Decor for St. Patrick’s Day:
- Shamrock Place Mats (Dollar Tree)
- Copper Mugs
- Glass Mugs
- Apothecary Jar with gold wrapped candy
- Irish Cream Mini Bottles
I started by adding two shamrock place mats and then layering other items in.
Gold wrapped candy fills an apothecary jar. It might not be a pot of gold, but it’s close enough!
Irish Cream added to a cup of coffee or hot chocolate is a favorite. I added a few mini bottles of Irish Cream, some coffee and hot cocoa pods, along with copper mugs to the rack.
I love that all of this came together by using mostly items I already had on hand. It’s always a fun challenge to reuse items from one season to the next to get a new look.
