Create a simple centerpiece for St. Patrick’s Day using a metal pail, faux flowers, and a DIY shamrock ribbon. This can be put together in about 15 minutes and it’s a pretty way to give a nod to the holiday.

Do you do lots of decorating for St. Patrick’s Day? I like to put together a tablescape and add a couple of decor pieces, but I don’t go all out for the holiday.
Some years, I like to create whimsical and fun decor. This year I’m opting to go with a more subtle look.
DIY St. Patrick’s Day Floral Centerpiece
I recently used this pail for a Valentine’s Day Arrangement. I like that it can be used for lots of different occasions. It was an inexpensive purchase from Walmart.
The first step when creating a floral arrangement is to either use foam or vase filler to hold the flowers in place. For this one, I’m using vase filler beads.
When arranging the flowers, I like to start with an outer rim of them. These white flowers are Dollar Tree purchases. I used floral snippers to cut each stem from the bunch. Push the greenery on the stem up close to the bloom.
To add a little Touch of the Irish to the arrangement, I used hot glue to attach a leprechaun hat to one of the flowers. I’ve had this in my craft stash for a while, but you can find similar ones at most dollar stores. A pot of gold or a shamrock could used instead of the hat.
This hat is wood, so it took a good bit of hot glue to secure it to the flower.
The yellow and white rose bunches were purchased at Michaels a couple of years ago. They often have these small bunches on sale for Easter.
I made a larger version of my Shamrock Ribbon Pin and glued it to the front of the pail.
I plan on using this for a simple St. Patrick’s Day tablescape that I’ll be sharing soon. This year I’m using softer shades of green coupled with copper accents for the tablescape.
