This spring garden trellis is a fun lawn decor piece to welcome springtime. Using items from the dollar store and bargain racks made this an inexpensive project.

I’ve used a dollar store trellis for a spring wreath a few years ago, but as I was sorting through my spring craft bins, I saw that it needed an updated look. I removed the items and started with a clean slate. After finding an assortment of items to use for the new look, I’ve placed it outdoors instead of using it as door decor.
How to Use a Dollar Store Item for a Spring Garden Trellis
Supplies Used for Spring Garden Trellis from a dollar store item
- Small Metal Trellis
- Wood Letters
- Small Garden Tools
- Cloth Carrots
- Gorilla Clear Grip Glue
The miniature garden tools were in Bullseye’s Playground at Target. They are just the right size for the trellis. The cloth carrots were in my craft stash from last year, and the wood letters were found on the clearance aisle at Walmart last fall. I had planned on using the flowers shown in the photo, but as often happens, once I got started, I went in a different direction.
Since I’ll be using this outdoors, I used Gorilla Clear Grip Glue. It dries fast and clear and is great for outdoor projects since it’s waterproof.
The wood letters were strung together with ribbon. I removed the ribbon and glued each letter onto the trellis.
To add a pop of color to the tools, I tied paper rope ribbon into small bows and glued them to the tools.
The carrots are also glued to the trellis. I made sure not to go too low since the spikes of the trellis need to go into the ground.
This was such a simple project and it only took a few minutes to put together.
Once I put the trellis in the ground, I realized that the middle tool didn’t have enough support since it was only glued in one spot. I used some clear fishing line to tie it more securely to the metal.Use a dollar store trellis for fun spring lawn decor. #SpringDecor #GardenTrellis #DollarStoreCrafts #LawnDecor Click To Tweet
