I’ve mentioned that this year I’m decorating for St. Patrick’s Day using some simple decor pieces that give subtle nods to the holiday instead of my usual fun and whimsical decor for the day.
Easy St. Patrick’s Day Decor DIY

Using dollar store scarves to make wreaths is something that I’ve been doing for several years. It’s an inexpensive way to wrap a wreath. For this St. Patrick’s Day Wreath, I wanted a small wreath form. I knew I wanted to use it as part of a vignette instead of for door decor.
Dollar Tree has small ones that are just the right size for what I had in mind.

The St. Patrick’s Day Scarves this year had tassels attached to them. The first thing I did was to cut these off.

Fold the scarf and use to pearl head pins to hold it to the wreath.

Simply continue wrapping the scarves around the wreath form, pinning along the way until the form is covered. Trim away any excess fabric and pin the end in place.

To dress the wreath up a little, I made a simple bow from wired ribbon. It’s just tied into a bow and an additional small piece of ribbon is pinned around the middle. The bow is attached to the wreath with a pearl head pin.

Putting together Easy St. Patrick’s Day Decor
The small green bookcase is a spot that I often use for seasonal decor. I added some faux white roses and greenery to two tear drop pattern vintage milk glass vases.

The little wood house shape is something I found at the Dollar Spot at Target. I painted it with a combination of blue and green DecoArt Acrylic Paint and added self adhesive letters and a painted green shamrock. I used a variation of colors to try to mimic the fabric of the wreath.

I like the simplicity of my St. Patrick’s Day Vignette this year. The softer colors go well with the thrift store find Candle Holder that got a makeover in white with a hint of green.
