Create a simple spring tablescape using shades of purple along with white dishes and milk glass accents. Purple isn’t a color that I use often in decor, but for this season, I used items I had on hand and put together a table setting using lavender and lilac flowers, napkins, and a table runner.
To keep it budget friendly, I combined Dollar Tree white plates with some of my favorite vintage milk glass pieces.

Do you ever branch out from your usual color palette for your decor? I love using pastels for spring tablescapes. One of my favorites was a Spring Tablescape with Vintage China that I put together a few years ago using my mother’s china. This year, I enjoyed incorporating some new colors for spring.
Spring Tablescape Using Shades of Purple and White
These lovely hobnail milk glass wine glasses go great with any color. I used them for my Winter White Tablescape after the holidays. There are no manufacturer’s mark on these, but there are lots of them for sale on Etsy and they are listed as probably being Anchor Hocking.
The matching candle holders give the table a cohesive look. The hobnail pattern was popular for several manufacturers.
Last year for Gloria’s birthday dinner, I decorated with purple accents. These lavender linen napkins (affiliate) were inexpensive and purchased from Amazon. The crystal rings I’m using were thrift store finds.
The white dinner plates along with the white bread plates are from Dollar Tree. I’ve been impressed with how well these still look after about five years of use. They still look brand new with no scratches or chips. You can’t beat the price of them and you can spend a lot more money for plates that won’t hold up as well.
While fresh cut flowers would of course look even better, these faux lavender stems placed in a pitcher give me the color I wanted for the centerpiece. I realized after I had set the tablescape up that I could have used my hobnail milk glass pitcher to match the glasses and candle holders. I’m going to chalk up that up to forgetfulness.
The table runner was another Amazon purchase that I used for Gloria’s birthday party. I have several of these sheer chiffon runners in various colors and I love using them.
Mixing vintage pieces with inexpensive dollar store and thrift store finds is a great way to get the look you want for less money. Take a look around your home to see what you can use in different ways for new looks.
