Welcome to week number thirteen in our One Good Thing Series. Each Friday, we will be choosing one good thing from the week prior to highlight. While lots of good things can be found throughout the week, this is a place to spotlight one in particular. It might be something as simple as a great meal we had or a blog post that inspired us. It could be something awesome that happened in our lives or in the world around us. It might be something related to our blog. Some will be from Gloria and some from Beverly. They will all be short snippets of what made us stop and think “Well, that was a good thing!” We would love to have others share their own One Good Thing.
My One Good Thing for this week is that as a young adult,I have the means to have medical care. About two months ago, I was admitted to the ER after having heart attack like symptoms. No worries, all is well now, but this week I was faced with a stack of medical bills. One for the doctor, one for the other doctor, one for the lab, one for this and another for that! Opening one after another gets a little stressful. Can’t they just consolidate it all into one large one? I digress!
Well anyway, this week I realized how lucky I am. I’m lucky that I had a mother who taught me to save for a rainy day. I’m lucky that at the end of the day my health is ok and I’m lucky that while many in my age group are faced with the choice of paying their student loans or paying for medical insurance, I’ve avoided having to make that choice, I’m able to see a doctor when needed and that is a very good thing for which I am tremendously thankful!
Remembering to be thankful is always a good thing! What’s your One Good Thing this week?
