I love using pretty cloth napkins for tablescapes. The only problem with that is that I tend to amass lots of sets of napkins that need to be organized and stored. Using a pants hanger is a great way clear out cabinet drawers and store napkins.

As I was putting away Christmas dishes, my china cabinet was getting full. Two of the drawers were filled with cloth napkins. I needed that space for dishes. This isn’t a tutorial, just a simple hack for using a pant hanger in a different way.
I’ve seen pant hangers used for ribbon storage and for hanging scarves. I thought one of them might work well to hold napkins, too.
Napkin Storage Holder

I found this pants hanger (affiliate) on Amazon. It has four arms that fold out, plus the bottom can be used, too.

I already had a Command Hook on the back of the door that I was using to hang aprons. I moved the aprons to another hook in the room to make room for the napkin storage holder.
I started at the bottom and added sets of napkins up to the top hanger.

I chose napkin sets that I don’t use often, but ones that I still want to keep within reach. Our laundry room is just off of the kitchen, so it’s a good spot to store the napkins.

The napkins are easy to remove since the arms fold out.

Coming up with new ways to use items that meets a need you have is always good.

Swing Arm Pants Hanger for Napkin Storage

I always love finding new and practical uses for items. I repurposed a bulletin board thrift store find into a Craft Paint Brush Holder, a letter holder became a Craft Tool Holder, and a lazy Susan works well as a Craft Supply Holder.

The napkins look pretty hanging on the door. The pants hanger is a great idea and they will be less wrinkled too. I really like that the pants hanger pulls out to remove the napkins. It always feels good to get organized.

That’s a great idea, Bev, and I’m thinking I’ll try it for my tablecloths. I have a few of those hangers empty in the storage room somewhere.
