Watching Christmas movies is always a great time. When you’ve watched a classic for years, it can be fun to add an activity to do while watching the movie, like this Movie Night DIY Postcard Activity.
Welcome back to year 6 of our Festive Christmas Event where we team up with a bunch of talented blogging friends to bring you a plethora of creative ways to celebrate your holiday season.
We will be baking some cookie recipes for you, sharing some party games, making some handmade gifts, doing some ornament crafting, and sharing our Christmas movies family fun. There will be breakfast recipes and as always our decorated Christmas Trees which is always a fun tour of homes.
New this year is Gift Guides. We are right there with you shopping from home due to Covid 19 and we understand how hard that can be so we have been busy little Elves doing tons of research to create fabulous Gift Guides to help you with your holiday shopping.

Today, all of the co-hosts will be sharing ideas inspired by our favorite Christmas movies! Be sure to check those out at the end of this post.
In our family, Elf has become a holiday classic. Like lots of you, we can quote many of the lines before they are spoken. A few years ago, I made this cute Elf and Santa Hat Candy Jars inspired by the movie.
Movie Night Activity Making Christmas Postscards
These will be fun to make to give or send to family and friends.
To add a fun activity while watching the movie, I’ve created a set of 10 postcards featuring some of the most loved lines from the movie.
There is also an address design so that you can use these cards for mailing.
Make sure to use 5 x 7 Cardstock and set your printer settings correctly.
- Set to landscape
- Paper Size 5×7
- Photo Size 5×7
- Page Margins Normal
- Shrink to Fit
Instructions for printing.
- Download the 10 designs + address design
- Set printer settings
- Place the 5×7 card vertically in the rear tray of the printer
- Print as many of the address designs as you think you’ll need
- Using the blank side of the address design card, flip the card over and place in rear printer tray
- Follow printer settings instructions to print each Elf movie quote
Make a note of which direction you’ll need to place the cards for front and back printing. If you have a printer that will do double sided printed, this step is easier.
Once you’ve printed the front and back of the cards, you’re ready to start personalizing them.
Kids and adults can write a personal message on the quote side of the postcards and add some colorful artwork, too.
Unfortunately, Elf isn’t widely available for free on any streaming service this year, but you can rent it. The HD version will be available for $3.99 on Amazon, YouTube, Google Play, iTunes, Vudu, PlayStation, Microsoft, and Redbox. If you want a more permanent version, you can find Elf (affiliate) on Amazon, in Blu-ray or DVD.
