I had so much fun creating this style board from Chairish! Holly, from Chairish, contacted me and asked if I would be interested in participating in their Mix ‘n Chic Style Board Challenge. I’ve seen style board challenges from other bloggers using design elements from Chairish and I was excited to take up the challenge. This month’s challenge is using Shabby Chic pieces and mixing and matching them with other styles for beautiful rooms. If you’re like me, you will love browsing through the Shabby Chic selections on Chairish.

If you’re not familiar with Chairish, you’re missing out! It’s an on line shop for vintage and used home decor pieces. You’ll find something for every style! I spent the better part of one evening looking through tons of fabulous listings while putting my style board together.
For this challenge, I was sent a file with several pieces of decor and I chose a couple of those pieces as my inspiration pieces. Then, I browsed through the site on the search for great pieces of different styles that I feel work beautifully together.
The challenge of mixing different styles together to create a style board for a beautiful room was right up my design alley. I’ve been mixing styles for years and now that it’s becoming a popular, I’m ahead of the curve! When Holly said, “the less matching the better,” I was in.
This lovely French Country dresser and Maria Theresa chandelier were the two inspiration pieces that I wanted to style the room around. I love the soft colors combined with gold accents. After selecting these two pieces, my idea was coming together.Browsing through Chairish, I was looking for decor pieces of various styles that I think work well together, all using soft blues or greens and gold.
I chose this Hollywood Regency brass framed mirror framed mirror to go above the dresser. Using gold accents throughout the room makes a great statement. To compliment the color of the dresser, I selected a Vintage Blue Florentine tray. This Vintage Gold Leaf Lamp with Matching Shade is the perfect topper for the dresser. To add some symmetry to the top of the dresser, I paired the lamp with this unique Art Deco piece.
The focal point of any bedroom is of course the bed. This gorgeous Rococo bed in antique white sets the tone for the room. I selected a Classic silk duvet cover from the recommended site, Polyvore. Belgium Fortuny Pillows with Antique Metallic Trim add a pop of blue to the bedding.
My search for night tables led me to this pair of Campaign Lacquered Burlwood nightstands. The greenish blue color and the gold drawer pulls make them great pieces to anchor on each side of the bed. The Vintage Tommi Parzinger Candlesticks have a mid century modern look to them that I love. What bedroom is complete without a lovely chaise lounge? This French Country lounge looks like the perfect spot to relax. The Traditional Pasargad Tabriz rug subtly blends the room’s color palette.
The Traditional Silk Draperies give a soft, calming frame for the room while the Contemporary Abstract Oil Painting in blues and gold gives some balance to the flair of the other design styles in the room. Choosing a painting with blues and golds works perfectly.
