August is always a time that I like to bring out transitional décor. I replace the colorful summer pieces with more subtle tones that hint that fall isn’t too far away.
To create a late summer tablescape for our breakfast nook, I used items I had on hand and put together an easy DIY Centerpiece using green and beige.

Do you like to ease into fall décor for your home? I think it’s a great idea to begin with transitional pieces that have softer colors rather than going full on into the golds and orange tones that we associate with fall.
Late Summer Tablescape

The focal point for this table setting is the DIY Centerpiece that I made using a thrift store find wooden crate. I filled it greenery and soft beige florals using Dollar Tree flowers.

Several years ago I found a wire basket with these square candle holders at my local Goodwill. I gave it a fall look and used it that year with my Coastal Fall Décor. I’m using two of the candle holders for this table setting.

I sorted through my napkins and found a set of these floral ones. The colors are muted enough to go well with a late summer setting. I looked through Amazon and found other napkin sets that I think would work well, too. I’ve linked those at the bottom of the post for your convenience.

I wanted to keep the place settings simple. I’m using silver chargers and white dinner and bread plates. For this look, I opted not to use napkin rings. If you are in search of sturdy, plain white dinner plates, you can’t go wrong with Dollar Tree dishes. I’ve had these for several years and they hold up excellently. No scratches or discoloring at all after years of use.

I love putting together tablescapes without buying anything new especially if I’m only going to leave it set this way for a short amount of time. Creating a simple, yet lovely tablescape can be budget friendly if you shop your own home and reuse items in different ways.
