I always like to find budget friendly ways to create seasonal decor. This cricut project was inexpensive to make, so that’s always a bonus!
Hello Fall Cricut Project
Supplies Used for Hello Fall DIY Canvas
- Clearance Aisle Square Canvas
- Chalk Paint and Brush
- Cricut Air Explore 2
- White Vinyl
Finding items on the clearance aisle at any store is a good way to find supplies for diy projects. I found this canvas with a flower pattern at Walmart last winter when they had spring and summer items marked down. I bought two of them for $1.00 each.
It’s been waiting in my craft stash until now. I used Waverly Chalk paint in Agave to have it match the colors I’m using this year for lots of my fall decor. It took two coats to get full coverage of the blue flowers on the canvas.
I searched images in Design Space and found a leaf wreath by Pumpkin Farm. I resized it to fit the canvas.
The font I used is called Freestyle Script. Once I sized it to fit inside of the leaf wreath, I cut it from white vinyl, too. For this project, I didn’t use the attach tool for this. The wreath and the letters were cut separately.
After weeding, I centered the leaf wreath on the canvas and then added the words. I like using transfer paper for my Cricut projects. It’s easier to use than transfer tape.
That’s it! I told you this was an easy project. The design is simple and adding it to the vinyl didn’t take long at all.
If you don’t have a cutting machine, there are lots of fall themed vinyl decals at craft stores now. At the end of the post, I’ve linked a few Amazon finds that would also work well for this. Find an old canvas, paint it, and press on the decals for a quick and easy fall decor piece.
This will go well with the Dollar Store Pedestals I shared. Click the photo for another budget friendly fall decor idea!

That’s a great fall project! I’ve only tried using my Vinyl on Canvas once and did not have good luck getting it to stick– did you use iron on vinyl?
