Happy Halloween! I don’t do a lot of indoor decorating for Halloween until a few days before the holiday. Most of my Halloween decor is outdoors. I’ve never liked the gory, bloody decor that seems to be popular with lots of people! I prefer whimsical and fun with a little bit of spooky or eerie! This Halloween Pumpkin Topiary is easy to put together and fits in with the fun Halloween decor.
To put this together, I bought three black pumpkins from the dollar spot at Target. I used a metal container that I recently bought at Goodwill and some ribbon.
I started by removing the stems from two of the pumpkins. They were easy to pull right out. I cleaned up this container to use as the vase for the topiary.
I needed to add some filler to the container and the most convenient thing I had was this empty spool of ribbon. It fit just right inside the container.
I added a pumpkin on top of the spool and added some purple tulle with a thumbtack to the top of the pumpkin.
I added a couple of strips of orange ribbon with hot glue.
I added hot glue to the bottom of the second pumpkin before placing it on top of the ribbon. I repeated the step above and added the third pumpkin. To finish it off my Halloween Pumpkin Topiary, I tied a simple bow around the stem on top.
Adding some of the purple tulle to the container gave it a fuller look. It’s just tucked in to the container.
Like many of our projects, this one was simple and budget friendly.
Materials Used for Halloween Pumpkin Topiary
- Three medium sized black pumpkins
- Purple Tulle
- Orange Ribbon
- Hot Glue
- Container for Base
- Filler (I used a ribbon spool)
This will be a fun welcome for our guests on Halloween.
