Adding a touch of glam to Easter decor is easy with just a few items. Gloria’s home is decorated with lots of gold and white decor pieces, so the traditional pastel Easter colors just don’t fit in. These Golden Easter Eggs are a perfect for her color scheme.
My idea for this started when I spotted this gold tray at Goodwill recently. It was only .99. It just needed to have the sticker removed and it was ready to use.
I bought a pack of craft eggs from Walmart. I like that these are smooth, without any markings on them.
I already had some gold paint on hand. It’s Folk Art Metallic. It gives a matte finish which is what I wanted for this project. Painting these was a little messy. I painted one side, allowed it to dry and then painted the other side.
Gloria found these pearl borders at Michaels. They have adhesive backing. I cut the strips down to the size I needed and wrapped them around each egg.
The pearls give the golden eggs a little extra touch of glam.
I had a couple of pearl garland strands in my craft stash and they were just what I needed to add to the tray. The eggs are nestled on top of the pearls.
I love how these turned out. Until Gloria takes them home with her, I have them out on display in my foyer.
If you’re looking for something other than pastels for Easter, give this a try! Who says Easter eggs have to be pastel?
