Adding signs and plaques to a gallery photo wall is a good way to separate the pictures. This easy gallery wall family sign was made using a thrift store find wall plaque and a dollar store decal.

It’s time for our monthly De-Stash Blog Hop. Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C’mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from our own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project, but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies. Check out some awesome creations you might be able to make from your own stash! This challenge is a fun one to participate in each month. I always like being motivated to use up some of the items that have been stashed away.
Let’s meet this month’s bloggers!!
Family Sign for Gallery Wall
My local Goodwill always has a great assortment of plaques and wall signs. While I tend to agree with the sentiment on this one, it’s not something that I would hang in my home. It is a great find for a makeover, though.
I used a combination of white, green, and blue paint for the plaque. The first coat was white. While it was still wet, I added a coat of green, followed by a coat of blue. I used a ruler as a straight edge and a skewer to draw lines through the paint to allow some of the white to show. I allowed those coats to dry before dry brushing more white onto it.
This floral clip is something I found in my craft stash. I clipped it onto the hanging bracket on the back of the plaque.
I’ve had this family quote decal in my craft stash for a while. I bought it at Dollar Tree and never got around to using it.
While I love using my Cricut for projects like this, I also want to use up items in my craft stash and this was just the right size for the sign.
I put together a gallery wall of family photos a few years ago on our staircase wall. I’ve been meaning to add in a few pieces that aren’t photos. This family sign fits in wonderfully.
