Do you do much decorating for Halloween? I don’t do a lot, but I like to at least hang a wreath on our front door.
Fun & Easy Halloween Wreath

This DIY Halloween Wreath is easy to make and it’s budget friendly since the items used were bought at either a dollar store or a thrift store. I found an 18″ straw wreath form at Goodwill last year that I’ve been saving for the right project. The black felt came from Dollar Tree. I need two packs of it for this size wreath.

I picked up this felt cat with a witch’s hat at Dollar Tree along with the pumpkin with a witch’s hat that I used for my Welcome Halloween Wall Art.

To make the wreath, I cut the black felt into strips and wrapped each strip around the wreath form, pinning it in place with ball head pins. I added a pop of color to it by wrapping the green and white polka dot ribbon around several inches of the wreath.

Black ribbon is cut to form a loop for hanging the wreath. It’s stapled into the wreath form and then another strip of ribbon is pinned over it.

I pulled the hat from the cat before I realized that I wanted to use the cat as part of the wreath. I removed the felt buckle before adding a strip of the green ribbon.

The ribbon is glued to the back of the hat. To add a little more color, I made a simple slit cut felt flower like the ones I used for this Fun Fall Bouquet. It’s glued to the hat.

Since I took the cat and hat apart, I needed to glue them back together. I also painted the star on the hat gray and added some silver glitter to it.

Using pipe cleaners I made something to mimic the look of a spider web. I wrapped the pipe cleaner around a pencil to form a spiral and then twisted two of them together before gluing it to the wreath.

I decided to have the ribbon on the wreath be off-center and I added a simple black ribbon bow it.

A loop of green and white dot ribbon is glued around the black bow.

The final step was to glue the cat to the wreath. To make sure that it doesn’t bend inward, I glued a small craft stick to the back of it to support it.
