Even though it’s not feeling like fall here, it’s time to bring out the fall decor! This Welcome Fall Chalkboard is an easy way to get started on fall decor. We’ve given the sign a makeover from last year when Gloria used it at her place. This year, it’s making its appearance at my house. It might be wishful thinking, but maybe if I start putting up fall decor, the weather will begin to feel more fall like!
Gloria drew the pumpkin. She’s much better at that than I am. She used extra large chalk sticks to create the outline and then blended various colors to create the pumpkin.
I used the same colors and a stencil to add the stem to the top of the chalkboard. To get rid of the specks and any unwanted chalk marks you see in this picture, I used cotton swabs.
Using large chalk sticks, I added “Welcome Fall” to the center. Now, you can certainly make this have a more uniformed look by using a printable and tracing the outline in chalk and then filling it in, but honestly, I was looking for a quicker method than that. Simply free handing it worked for me!
This Welcome Fall Chalkboard is such an easy project, but it looks great hanging near our front door. I had the perfect spot for it just outside of our dining room.
I recommend using Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk. The sticks are extra large and it’s easy to blend. It’s also very easy to erase and start over.
