I was looking for an easy treat to make for the holidays and when I saw these Christmas Funfetti Cake Batter Truffles on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to try them. I changed the recipe a little – don’t we always do that? I had a funfetti cake mix in my pantry, so I used that instead of making my own using a white cake mix as the inspiration recipe did. I used CandiQuik instead of almond bark for coating the truffles.

Making these is simple and it only takes a little over 30 minutes and most of that time is allowing the dough balls to chill. The best part is that they can be refrigerated for a couple of weeks in an air tight container, so they are great for make ahead treats to share at holiday parties or to put in holiday treat baskets.
To make Funfetti Truffles for Christmas, you’ll need the following:
- Funfetti Cake Mix
- Flour
- Sugar
- Butter
- Milk
- Vanilla Extract
- CandyQuik
- Christmas Sprinkles
- Gather ingredients
- Mix dry ingredients in large bowl
- Melt butter and add wet ingredients to bowl
- Stir until well combined
- Shape into a large ball
- Use a 1/4 tsp for each truffle
After you’ve divided the dough into 1/4″ balls, place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This will help them hold their shape when dipped into the melted coating. You can use any kind of candy coating that you prefer for these. I often use CandiQuik because it’s so easy to work with. For these holiday truffles, I used vanilla. Follow the directions on the package for melting and then pour it into a bowl that will be deep enough for dipping.
I like to use two small cocktail forks for dipping. Lower one ball into the melted coating and cover it entirely using the fork to push it around in the coating. Use both forks to lift it out, scrapping the bottom of the truffle on the top of the bowl to remove excess coating.
I dipped five truffles and added the sprinkles before the coating began to harden. Then, I repeated the same steps with five more. This recipe makes twenty five 1/4″ truffles.

I’ve made similar ones to this and the kids love it! I think part of the fun is making them. I’m in charge of dessert at thanksgiving and I might change up the cake mix and make these.

Yum! Yum! Yum! I’m coming over for some of these. They remind me of cake pops, but cake pops are so hard to get them to stay on the sticks. I really think my kids would love these. I can’t wait to try your recipe.
