Easy DIY Beewax Candles for Mother’s Day

I have a couple of beeswax candles that I purchased a few years ago. I’ve been thinking that they look pretty simple to make. After a quick search on Pinterest and I found a Rolled Beeswax Candles Easy Tutorial.
After confirming that these candles are super easy to make, I ordered some beeswax sheets. The kit includes a long strand of wick.

How to Make DIY Beeswax Candles

Using these sheets is an easy way to make diy beeswax candles.
- Cut a length of wick long enough for about an inch of overhang on one end.
- Press the wick into the sheet about 1/4″ from the edge.
- Roll the beeswax over the wick, pressing firmly to make sure it doesn’t slide out.
- Continue rolling the beeswax, making sure to keep it straight.
- Trim excess wick down to about 1/4″.

To make different sized candles, place the wick along the width of the sheet instead of the length. You can also cut the sheets in half for thinner candles.

Using the candles for a Mother’s Day gift meant I needed to dress them up a little. I cut strips of purple paper that would wrap around three to four of the candles.

Wrap the paper around groups of candles and secure in place on the back with a small piece of tape. Wrap twine around each wrapper and tie a simple bow.

Beeswax Candles for Mother’s Day Gift
Rather than wrapping the candles in a gift box, I decided to use a container to hold them. Place tissue paper into a container. I’ve had this small metal pail in my craft stash since last fall. It was originally purchased at Walmart.

Wrap a piece of twine around the pail and hot glue to the back. Add a simple twine bow to the front of the pail with glue. I added a few flower sprigs to help fill up the container.

I found a canvas tag in my craft stash. I used a paint pen to write Happy Mother’s Day on it and attached it to the twine on the pail.
