Tulips & Shamrocks Centerpiece for St. Patrick’s Day

Dollar Store shopping is great for creating decor pieces that are seasonal. I don’t like to spend much money for decor that’s only going to be displayed for a month, but I do like to add seasonal decor. That’s where dollar store decorating comes in!

I used the metal pail for a centerpiece for a Casual Easter Tablescape last year. I found it at my local Goodwill.
For a St. Patrick’s Day Centerpiece, I replaced the flowers I used last year with white tulips that I purchased at a dollar store. I added filler sand and beads that were purchased at Dollar Tree to the pail to hold the flowers in place.

The tulips are spaced out first in a circular pattern and then filled in the middle of the pail.

I bought several St. Patrick’s Day scarves at Dollar Tree that I’m using for a couple of crafts, like this easy small wreath for a simple vignette.

One of the scarves is used as a collar for the pail. It’s folded and tucked inside of the pail.

I had a few shamrocks with glittery accents that I purchased at Dollar Tree a couple of years ago. I didn’t want this centerpiece to be sparkly though, so I painted two of them with green DecoArt acrylic paint. To add them to the pail, I hot glued them to wooden skewers.

When I added the shamrocks, I decided I didn’t like having the wood of the skewers show. I gave the skewers a light coat of green paint so that they would blend in better. I added an additional shamrock that I found in my craft stash to the center of the arrangement. It’s also hot glued to a skewer.

One more small shamrock is glued to the pail. Using items I had on hand along with dollar store items kept the cost of this St. Patrick’s Day Tulips and Shamrocks Centerpiece low.

It’s a simple way to add a little luck o’ the Irish to my casual breakfast nook table setting that I’ll be sharing on the blog soon.

This is so cute! I love the idea of using the scarf to dress up the pot. The sand tip is a great idea to hold the flowers in place.

This is the perfect centerpiece. I think my favorite part is the scarf around the top. I would have never thought of that and it really adds a nice decorative touch. I love it.
