I love finding items at dollar stores that I can use in unintended ways. When I spotted this Bloom Where You Are Planted dish towel, I knew what I wanted to do with it.
Spring Wall Art Using Dollar Store Items
After finding the towel, I looked for a frame that would work for it. I wanted one that had a mat, but didn’t find one. I did find a frame and a separate mat would work.
I decided to leave the frame black, but it could easily be painted if you prefer to give it a pop of spring color. I measured and cut the dish towel to fit the mat, centering the graphic behind it.
Before securing the towel inside of the frame, I ironed it on a low setting to remove the creases.
Since the towel is so thin, it needed a backing. I cut a piece of felt and used spray adhesive to attach it to the towel and trimmed off the excess felt to fit the towel.
The last step is to position the towel behind the mat in the frame.
How easy was this? It only took about ten minutes to put this spring wall art together and part of that time was just waiting for the iron to heat up.
You can find lots of different patterns of dish towels at dollar stores that could be used for seasonal wall art. Since I bought the supplies at Dollar Tree, the cost of the towel, mat, and frame was $3.00. I had the felt and adhesive spray on hand.
