DIY Valentine’s Day Wreath in Red & Pink

I’ve used the base of this wreath several times. It’s been both a Simple Christmas Wreath and a 4th of July Wreath.
In order to re-make the wreath, I attach ribbons and other embellishments with ball head pins instead of glue. That makes it easy to take them off and to create a new look for the red felt base.

This is a 15″ wreath form and I originally wrapped it with strips of red felt that I cut from a yard of fabric. The felt strips are pinned in place. Last year I used Valentine’s Day scarves to make a fun wreath.

The scarf is folded to size to fit diagonally across the wreath.

It’s folded over and pinned to the back of the wreath at the top and bottom.

Using pink and red craft paint, I re-painted some hearts that I’ve used before. I added a scalloped red heart and glued the wood craft hearts together. The pearl head pins hold the hearts in place.

I found some shimmery wired red ribbon in my craft stash that I used to make a simple bow for the top of the wreath. It’s just two bows tied together with tails in different lenghts.

To hang the wreath, I used some small ribbon. I made a loop and I used hot glue to attach it. Another small piece of ribbon on top holds it in place well.

I love when I can rework old wreaths into new ones. Since I had everything I used on hand, I didn’t need to spend any new money to make this Valentine’s Day Wreath.

Great idea to use pins instead of hot glue to reuse wreaths for different holidays and times of the year. I really like the scarf on the wreath.

I have a wreath form still wrapped in the denim strips I used the very first time. It just sits in a cupboard, I need to do like you do and start thinking more about using it over and over again. This is so pretty and so simple to put together.

Hi Beverly. This is very pretty. I have upcycled old wreaths too but I’m always stuck pulling apart hot glued items. I love the idea of using the pins. Pinned to my wreath board.
Beverly says
Thank you, Michelle. I learned from my own errors! Pins work great.
