Farmhouse Style DIY Photo Board
We’re starting off the new year with an easy diy photo board project to share with you. This can be made using scrap wood or you can buy a pre cut board at home improvement stores. We started with a 15/32″ 2×2 unfinished wood board that was purchased.
Gloria used the same stain technique for the board that she used for the Refurbished Farmhouse Dresser. You can see the details of how she stained the wood for the dresser and for the photo display board by clicking below.
Once the board had been stained and a protective coat added, we allowed it to dry for a few days. It only needs to dry overnight though and it will be ready to use. I measured segments for the board and placed twine on the spots that we wanted to hang photos from. I used some photos I had on hand to determine what layout would work best.
After measuring, twine was cut into three strips and stapled to the back of the board.
The final step for the board was to decide on the best way to hang it on the wall. We decided to use picture hanging steel wire by attaching two D-rings to the back of the board.
All that was left to do was to add the pictures using mini clips attached to the twine. Gloria filled it with photos of her husband’s family and placed it in the guest bedroom while his parents were visiting.
The great thing about displaying photos this way is how easily they can be changed.
