Gloria and Georges wanted to keep the budget as low as they could for their December wedding. Having it at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island was a great location for them. But, having an outdoor wedding at a park, meant that there wasn’t a traditional aisle for the ceremony. That’s when a little DIY project came in.
DIY Aisle Markers for an Outdoor Wedding

Gloria purchased wood landscaping stakes at Lowe’s. She chose 36″ tall stakes. Using a foam roller, she gave them a coat of white paint.

After the first coat, she decided that she didn’t want to completely cover the wood grain, so, it turned out to be even quicker than she had anticipated to paint them.

The stakes are dressed up using a combination of white, ivory, and pale pink ribbon. She measured three strips of ribbon for each stake that would be long enough to tie around the top of the stake and drape near the ground.
She used the same ribbon on the DIY bouquets that she made. The ribbon was purchased at JoAnn Fabric and Craft, using a coupon of course! Gloria made her bouquet with fresh flowers and eucalyptus stems, while the bouquet she made for her maid of honor was made with faux blooms.

On the day of the wedding, the ribbons were tied around the stakes and one ivory rose was tucked into the ribbon.

The stakes are not expensive, costing only about $8.00 for twelve. She already had the paint on hand. The ribbon was on sale, plus we had a 20% off of total purchase coupon, so that helped to keep the cost low. She bought all of the fresh flowers and eucalyptus from a local wholesale florist here in Charleston. That was a huge budget saver.
