I’ve lived in my house for ten years and for every day of those years, I’ve thought, I really need to do something about the wallpaper in the powder room. When we bought the house, three things jumped out as needing to be changed right away: wallpaper in the upstairs main bathroom, the icky linoleum floors in the kitchen and breakfast nook and the wallpaper in the powder room. Someone obviously loved wallpaper more than I do!
And then, there’s that powder room, still looking sad and neglected after all these years. My experience with the wallpaper in the other bathroom lingered and held me back from starting this project. But, there comes a time when outdated wallpaper and brass fixtures just have to go.
Coastal Makeover for Half Bath

I forgot to take a picture of the old fixtures while still mounted. Say good-bye to outdated brass!

This was the tired, dated brass sink fixture.

Thanks to my son for cutting the pieces to size for me. My husband installed it using trim nails, then caulked it. I finished it off by painting it.

I decided to use navy blue as my accent color for the room. A little spray paint goes a long way in making a big change.

The dark, busy wall paper and gold accents have been replaced by a light and refreshed coastal look.

Love the nautical theme! I’m doing a beach themed guest room and bath (one day) because my married name is Beach so it’s almost required. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday!

Thanks, Rachel. Using nautical decor is one of my favorite ways to decorate. Ha! I can see why it’s almost a requirement for you! Sounds reasonable! Happy to share, thanks for stopping by.
