We’ve joined with a group of our blogging friends to share monthly challenge blog hops. This month, we’re all sharing Favorite Family Recipes. Our recipe is one that my sister first made back in the 70’s. She called it Chocolate Pudding Cake, but you may have a similar recipe called chocolate delight. No matter what it’s called it’s a delicious, creamy dessert that is easy to make and is always a hit. It’s an easy dessert and one that I think you’ll love. Have a look at our Chocolate Pudding Cake~Favorite Family Recipe.
We encourage you to visit the other bloggers who are participating in the blog hop. I’m sure they’re all sharing some delicious recipes! We can’t wait to check them out!

Chocolate Pudding Cake~Favorite Family Recipe
For Easter dinner this year I wanted to serve a dessert that I hadn’t served in a long time. I remembered this delicious dessert that my sister made frequently. I recall making a few times years ago, but I looked through my recipe box and realized I didn’t have the recipe. After a quick note to my sister, I had the recipe and was ready to get reacquainted with this tasty dish.
There are several steps to layering this, but they are all easy. The first layer is a simple crust made with flour, butter and nuts. I used walnuts because I had them in the pantry. The original recipe calls for pecans.
Melt the butter and combine it with the flour. Stir until well mixed. Add in chopped nuts. Spread and press the mixture into a prepared baking pan. Bake for twenty minutes or until it’s golden.
While the crust is baking, mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cool whip using electric mixer. Once the crust has baked and cooled completely, spread this layer on top.
The third layer is the pudding layer. Combine pudding mix with milk using an electric mixer and spread over the cream cheese layer.
Spread remaining Cool Whip on top for the fourth layer. Chill for at least 3 hours before serving.
Once the pudding has set after chilling, the dessert can be cut into squares for serving.
I had forgotten how much I loved this dessert! My guests all loved it, too. I know that I won’t let too much time go by before I make this again.
