I put together a simple St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape & Easy DIY Coasters. I wanted to add a little green to our decor for a week or so. To create the look, I decided to shop my home for items I already had. It’s a fun look for our breakfast nook.
I used two of these felt shamrocks for my St. Patrick’s Day Wall Decor. When I glued the one with scrolls onto the solid one I started to think about other ways to use these. I thought they would make cute coasters.
Since these are different shades of green I wanted to incorporate various green shades in my tablescape.
I used a tiny amount of hot glue to hold the two shamrocks together.
Coupled with clear glass Irish coffee mugs, the coasters are just right for the St. Patrick’s Day tablescape.
For the centerpiece, I used a green tinted vase I purchased last Halloween at The Dollar Tree. I filled it with small pebbles and added a strip of burlap tape and green ribbon near the top. The flowers are from my ever growing stash of silk flowers. I purchased these last spring from Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts.
St. Patrick’s Day decor isn’t complete without something to represent a pot of gold. I used gold striped votive candle holders filled with gold wrapped mints. They are placed on top of the shamrock coasters.
I’m using burlap chargers that I use on the breakfast nook table most of the year. I layered white place settings that I bought a couple of years ago at The Dollar Tree onto the chargers. It’s amazing that these plates hold up so well. I have settings for eight, dinner plates, bread plates, and bowls. We use them often and for a dollar for each piece, the price sure can’t be beat. I added a small green dessert plate and finished off the place setting with a green napkin done in a bow fold with a gold napkin ring.
I’m looking forward to serving an Irish inspired dinner on St. Patrick’s Day along with some Irish coffee.
Getting a fun look for a holiday that isn’t one that I do much decorating for was as easy as looking around my home and finding items that would fit the bill. I love when I can change things up just by shopping my own home.

We’ll be sharing at lots of these great parties.
