Football is a huge part of my family’s life. I’ve been an Atlanta Falcons fan since I was a child. My father passed on his love of the Falcons to me and it’s still going strong. If you follow the NFL, then you know that the Conference Championship games are coming up. Atlanta will be playing Green Bay for the NFC title. I’ve got a Falcons garden flag in my yard, but I wanted to show off my Falcon’s pride a little bit more with a front door wreath. **EDIT: The Falcons are going to the big game!!!
I originally made this felt squares wreath for Christmas a couple of years ago. I pinned the embellishments onto it so that it could be easily repurposed. Last year, I changed it up and made a Valentine’s Wreath out of it. Removing the Valentine’s embellishments left me with a plain red wreath-just what I needed for an Atlanta Falcons Wreath.
I’ve had this Falcons pony tail ribbon for a few years, but I’ve never used it. It’s been tucked away in a drawer, but it was just right for this. I looped it over the ribbon that’s used to hang the wreath. I later changed out the white ribbon and replaced it with black and then added the Falcons ribbon again.
I cut six pieces of narrow red ribbon and six pieces of black ribbon to add to the wreath. Using a small straight pin, I pushed the pin into the center of two pieces of ribbon and then into the wreath. I repeated that around the wreath. Along the bottom, I added two each of the red and black ribbon.
To add some fullness to the top of the wreath, I used wired sheer black ribbon. I tied one bow and then added a second one on top. Both bows are tied around the hanging loop ribbon and pushed down to meet the top of the wreath.
I removed this Falcons logo from a set of red and black beads that I’ve had for a while. I used a small piece of ribbon to attach it.
I love how this looks against our black front door. Living in Charleston, there aren’t too many Falcon fans around, but my neighbors will know which team we’re pulling for in the Championship game!
This wreath could easily be made using the colors of your favorite team. It’s an easy wreath to make. Cutting the felt squares is the only time consuming part. For a quick tutorial on how to make a felt squares wreath, have a look at this wreath as a Valentine’s Wreath.

Thanks! I don’t expect this to be one of my more popular wreaths! I haven’t seen many Falcon fans in my blogging circle! But, it’s a fun wreath to make in any color. I hope to enjoy the game!
