This Christmas season, I’m using more gold in my decor. Using a mixture of Dollar Tree items and some decor pieces I bought at Michaels, I put together this gold and red mantel and hearth. Adding in some pieces that I already had kept this a budget friendly focal point for our family room.
To put together my Christmas Mantel and Hearth, I first added some pre-lit garland. I didn’t have a particular plan for how the mantel was going to look. I like to add things in, take them out and rearrange them until I’m pleased with the look. I already had several gold pillar candles in various sizes. I used four of them on the mantel. I bought the gold deer and ornaments at the Dollar Tree.
Last year, I used lots of silver, but I wanted to switch it up a little this season. These over sized ornaments and bows were perfect for the look I wanted.
I used one shimmery one in the center of the mantel.
I scattered gold picks throughout the greenery.
I bought letters from Michaels to spell out JOY, but once I had the large ornaments, I decided to use one of those for the O.
Each year I buy a fresh wreath from Costco. For the last few years, I’ve been hanging it on the mirror above the mantel. I added some battery powered lights and tied on a red bow with Dollar Tree ribbon.
We rarely have need of a fire in Charleston, so I keep the fireplace decorated with candles throughout the year. For the holidays, I added greenery, lights, and ornaments to a wire basket. I scattered pine cones around the basket and added some ribbon swirls.
I love this gold candle. It was purchased at At Home.
My kneeling Santa always gets his spot in front of the fireplace.
I love being able to use items I already have and some old favorites and combining them with inexpensive holiday decor to create a look I love for my Christmas Mantel and Hearth.
